The MISSION
When you enter the world of Unleashed, our main aim is to help you and guide you to Unleash Your Best. We take a whole life approach, so you can master all areas of your life, to bring out your very best. What we have found over the years, coaching thousands of clients is that in order to achieve your best in one area, other areas of life benefit from as much focus, so that you always do your best.
The fantastic thing we see with our clients is their impact on everybody around them as they transform. Their transformation inspires others, whether that’s immediate family, extended family or friends and work colleagues. We create this ripple effect to our community, where many people benefit. Leading a healthier, inspired, and action-oriented lifestyle that brings out your best. You experience life fully. This is our mission. To help you in all areas of life. So that you never have to transform again. You just keep going and build on the skills you learn.
Most people reach out wanting to achieve amazing things with exercise, whether they are a complete beginner or have been active with exercise for years. They will seek to achieve things like their first press up, their first pull up, or want to finish their first park run. Once achieved, these are huge wins, what most people find is that their biggest achievements actually come from their shift in mindset, when they realise that far more isvpossible for them. They continue to grow and want to achieve more.
This has been my own experience, with my own journey that started as early as 12 years old. This is the beginning of Unleashing My Best.
Me and my
journey
For me, I have always been interested in exercise, sports and getting the most from my body. My love and passion for exercise started very young, but in terms of helping others, that started when I first went to the gym, on a Saturday afternoon inspired by my mum. The crazy thing is, I didn’t actually want to go to this kids gym session. I felt nervous, maybe you relate, from your own first experience in a gym or similar environment. So I get it. It can be daunting. But on the other side of that experience was a fantastic outcome, I realised I have lots of potential, and did quite well with some gym challenges they put on. Which inspired further growth. I went on to encourage my friends to join the gym, and we trained together for many years. I cherish these moments. It felt good to help others, to get the same feelings I did from building myself up, becoming fitter, stronger and more confident.
As soon as I had the chance to qualify as a personal trainer I took it. I then went on to amass many qualifications in the areas of corrective exercise and performance enhancement, as well as nutrition, to get the most from my clients. Living a healthy lifestyle was so important, as well as getting the most from my family, my clients, and ultimately myself.
The first decadeof my career, throughout my 20s I pushed really hard to help as many people as possible. I loved what I did. But pushing myself, day in day out, pushing business, led to a health outcome I wasn’t expecting. Like I said, I led a healthy lifestyle. But unbeknown to me there was an underlying stress. And just before my 31st birthday I realised I had developed Type I Diabetes. I questioned why me? I questioned “how can this happen?” I live a healthy life. But this was an assumption. Other areas I realised could be far better. Thankfully what I had achieved at that point allowed me to manage through this successfully and get my health back on track quickly. The doctors were very happy with my progress. This is why I feel it’s so important to help clients master all areas of life because you do not appreciate the impacts of what you don’t see. And this is why my main aim is to help everyone I coach Unleash Their Best, so they can live fully, healthily, and positively.
Like I said, from 12 years old, I’ve trained in the gym environment, lifted weights, and learnt by doing. The biggest flip, in what I do and how I experience exercise came from a mental shift at 26 years old, where I was introduced to gymnastics and calisthenics skills that humbled me. I was very strong, I could lift heavy weights, but when it came to certain gymnastic rings exercises they revealled weaknesses I didn’t know existed. It definitely humbled me, and gave me a valuable perspective. One exercise I could not do on my left side: Which was hanging from the gymnastic rings and trying to turn the whole left side of my body all the way to the left whilst upside down. It wasn’t happening. I was determined to put this right and did everything to make this exercise a success. A few months later I could do it no problem. And this is where the journey of calisthenics and gymnastics came from.
I re-built myself up, from the basics, building a really strong foundation to then develop to master far harder skills. The value I got from this is unbelievable. And this is what I help guide clients through to master their bodies, improve their awareness, and ultimately lead them to a body transformation that goes beyond the physical. The confidence, resilience, and the awareness that comes from this is huge, you feel a resilience about you, you feel like you can do anything, it’s just about going through the steps, learning lessons, and then taking actions on those. This is how I build people up through Unleashed.
What I realised
The humbling experience at 26 years of age, made me realise, there’s a lot more to transformation than the physical. What helped me further was a shift in mindset, where I developed a way of looking at experiences, and circumstances through different lenses to be able to move forward positively. This shift in perspective, allowed me to overcome challenges that came my way, stresses weren’t as impactful, and I was able to shift my behaviour, my feelings and emotions in a positive direction. This doesn’t mean I don’t feel sad, angry and those kinds of emotions, far from it, it’s just I can quickly adapt to get what I want rather than what I don’t want. It’s this mindset shift that helped me create a method, called Create Freedom.
Create Freedom, is a process I developed through my own experience, managing my thoughts effectively, to serve me, rather than hinder. This is another aspect of Unleashed, that helps clients navigate life’s obstacles and challenges. To have the mindset to grow, build and Unleash Your Best. Without this, limitations can hold people back. My vision is to give clients the tools and resources so that they can reach the top of their own mountain, realising their goals and dreams.
Vision
Our goals, can be a funny thing, because often we don’t realise what is actually possible for us. Other people’s opinions, experiences, can impact our own, and what we believe is possible. With Unleashed we allow clients to think bigger, once you’ve built a strong foundation, I want you to THRIVE, helping you realise there’s far more that’s possible. We turn a 5K run, into ½ marathon, or even a marathon, or something similar based on what’s important to you. Within calisthenics, that might look like getting your first pull up, to then be able to do 10, to then be able to perform a muscle up, and then take that even further, to develop skills where your flipping and jumping around a pull up bar. What’s inspiring to one person may not be to another, and that’s okay. What ever your goal, whatever your journey we will guide you through it.
Purpose
This is where we help you discover your true purpose, understanding why you want to do things, why your goals are important. Our purpose in Unleashed is to allow you to Unleash Your Best. In the beginning, you might not realise what best looks like, and this is why it’s a journey. As you learn more, as you discover more, as your awareness about what is possible opens up, your purpose will. You realise you can impact far more people, in your environment. Whether that’s inspiring your kids to exercise, eat healthy, live a healthier lifestyle. Then you are a true role model to them. Maybe it’s deep down, more about you, getting the most from yourself, because you never believed it was possible. It’s amazing the changes self belief, and confidence our clients go through as they grow.
Coaching
This is why our coaching goes beyond, exercise and nutrition. Our deep health, whole life approach, allows us to work with you as and when you need it. Giving you the encouragement, accountability, and support to live fully every single day. It’s often something quite simple, like sharing ideas about what healthy eating would look for you, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It could be more about your routine, and guiding you to schedule time, to get the things that matter in to your day. It might be, time for preparing healthy lunches and evening meals.
It might be planning in your exercise routines, and putting other necessary to-do’s around this. Maybe you do this, and there’s still a challenge, maybe things get in the way, this is common, and it’s the awareness around this and helping your understanding of why it happens, and how to overcome it that matters most.
Achieving long lasting results, is way more than a physical transformation, losing weight is actually quite easy. Maintaining that weight loss and living your life fully long-term is the hard part. Without having a deeper level of coaching to guide you, most results are short lived. This is what we saw across the wider fitness community. This wasn’t acceptable. If we coach you, we guarantee that your results will last, and this is why we have a full in-depth process to keep you right.
